What is National STUDENT-Athlete Day?

National STUDENT-Athlete Day (NSAD), was created 1987 by the National Consortium for Academics and Sports (NCAS), officially renamed the Institute for Sport & Social Justice (Institute). Celebrated annually on April 6th, NSAD honors high school and college student-athletes who have achieved excellence in academics and athletics, while having made significant contribution to their schools and communities.  is one of America’s strongest endeavors promoting the positive virtues of sport, student-athletes as a whole, and the positive affect they both have on society.

Since its inception, over 4.4 million student-athletes were honored with NSAD award certificates. We are now providing, at no cost, silicone wristbands. They are black with silver writing that reads NSAD. All student-athletes must have earned a 3.0+ GPA and be involved in outreach and community service.

Your school can celebrate the outstanding achievements of its student-athletes on NSAD in many ways, including presenting them with black silicone wristbands, hosting events on campus or virtually, and sharing the news about these incredible student-athletes with the press.

If you would like to present your outstanding student-athletes with wristbands, please click below to make a request. There is no limit to the amount.
